Tori West, a publisher, writer and editor of feminist fashion magazine BRICKS, launched the project with a desire to question and change the industry by promoting the work and voices of marginalised people.
Six years after its first issue, BRICKS has earned a name for itself as an important queer and working-class led independent publication, with previous cover stars including drag queen Sasha Velour and sex positive musician Brooke Candy. Coming from a working class family in South Wales, West has also become well known for her openness around the financial struggles often faced by young creatives, often discussing her work as a freelance writer and part-time cleaner, presenting an honest and realistic portrait of herself on social media as opposed to only posting her successes. West has also worked with Gurls Talk, ELLE and Depop, and was nominated for a grant from the Dazed 100 Ideas Fund.
